Starting Sunday, June 7th, we’ll be teaching Beginner Waltz at 6pm, and Intermediate Waltz at 7pm.  No experience is necessary.  Classes will automatically adjust to the overall skill level of class attendees.  

The session will start on Sunday, June 7th and run for FOUR weeks until Sunday, June 28th.

Everyone is welcome! No previous dance experience is required, nor is a fixed dance partner.

Here is the calendar for May, showing the updates to Cecil classes due to the closure of Elkton Station on Monday, April 27 due to a facilities issue.  There are also some workshop-style classes on Tuesdays, as well as a general interest meeting for anyone thinking of joining our organization on Tuesday, May 5th.

There will also be a social dance at Cecil College, Elkton Station on Friday, April 17th, 6-9PM.  $5 pp.  Snacks and beverages available.

The dance will have a 30-minute lesson included, and will feature a variety of music (Waltz, Tango, Salsa, Bachata, Rumba, Cha Cha, etc.).  These socials are a great way to practice and use what you’ve learned in class!

Because of people having parties for the “Big Game” (even though it doesn’t start until 11, and I can totally understand partying early), combined with the extreme cold, no class tonight.

Combining that with the low attendance thus far, largely because of weather, we’ll have a Swing workshop next week, Sunday 2/15, $10 pp, 6-7 PM.

We’ll start Fox Trot on Sunday, March 1st.

So far, it looks like we will start Swing this Sunday, February 1, at St. Thomas Episcopal.  

Those of you who attend our Cecil College classes, those start on Monday, February 2, and Wednesday, February 4.  Monday should be good; check your email or the college’s website on Wednesday.

If the coming snowstorm is as bad as predicted, the dance for Friday will likely be cancelled.  If that happens, I’ll try to get it rescheduled for later in the month.

Out of an abundance of caution, we are cancelling our social dance for tonight.  Current weather reports indicate more precipitation, and then a drop in temperatures to where roads would have icy conditions, especially for everyone’s ride home.

Since we’re having a dance at Cecil on February 6, and the dance at FADS – Fairfax, we’re looking at having a social in Newark in March.
